The Adhari Park will open to the public in mid-April and not tomorrow as reported in a section of the Press, a park spokesperson said yesterday.

“The Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Mansoor Hassan Bin Rajab, told the Press at the park on Tuesday that the opening would be delayed,” the spokesperson said. “The announcement was in Arabic and English. I don’t know how the date got mixed up.”
The official opening of the park was scheduled for tomorrow but Bin Rajab said they were waiting for an order from the Royal Court.
“His Majesty the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will announce the date for the park’ opening,” he said.

Northern Municipal Council chairman Yousif Boori told the Tribune, “We hope that HM the King would inaugurate the park.”

The park was opened to residents on Tuesday from 5 to 8pm to give them an experience of the new rides and what more would be there when it’s opened.

Till a decade ago, the park had been one of the most popular recreation sites. It underwent a BD15 million facelift since last year.
Most rides are operating and the rest will be commissioned in a month. A total of 120 Bahrainis, accounting for 90 per cent of the staff, have been hired, according to the Adhari Park Development Company.
